On the cover of this month’s Shape, you’ll find the brown beauty in a beautiful black and camo-print bikini – hmmm, new motivation bikini, you say? – and, on the inside, she’s dishing on everything the little tidbits her trainer tells her to the workouts she does to get those abs, those arms, and those legs! Get it, Kelly!

On building a fit booty: “The most beautiful thing about women is our curves, but as I’m getting older, the Rowland family trait of having bigger bottoms is taking its toll on my hips and butt. The other day, [my trainer] had me doing squats that were so hard I wanted to kill her. But my behind is getting higher and tighter. Exercise really does change your body.”

On journaling: “Self-reflection is so healthy, Journaling works for me — when I record the details of what I’m going through, whether it’s a relationship issue or negative thoughts, I can look back and see how far I’ve come. It makes me proud to see my progress and how I got through a bad situation.”kelly-rowland-1

On her boob job: “I wanted to get breast implants when I was 18, but my mom and Beyonce’s mom told me to really think about it, first. I took their advice and waited 10 years. We live in a microwave society where evrybody wants things instantly, but when you’re putting something foreign in your body, you should take your time. Once I felt ready, I tried on padded bras and walked around in them to see how it would feel. You have to know what you’re getting, no matter what type of surgery it is.”

On being consistent with her training: “I’ve always liked to exercise, but Jeanette [Jenkins, her personal trainer and Sexy Abs fitness DVD co-star] has made me realize how important it is to be consistent. Now it’s part of my life, and I work out five or six times a week. I feel better, I look better, sleep better. Being fit makes me feel sexy. Isn’t that everyone’s goal when they work out, to look good naked? It’s definitely mine!”

Kelly shares her favorite food tricks and exercises in the cover story….but there’s also something Kelly said a year or so ago that I think would give great insight into her physique and how she maintains it.

See? Mama told you.

The October 2013 issue of Shape is available on stands now! Go get that and show your girl some love!

I like this cover of kelly Rowland. I am still working on my eating habits ie fried foods and sugars but I have gotten much better. It has been a process. Yeah how long does it take for someone to cut out sugar in their diet?
