I love that! That needs to be my motto for 2012, “do what you need to do, so you can do what you WANT to do”. Mmm hmm. It’s all about delayed gratification!

Ok I’ll be the first to admit she grates my nerves. HOWEVER, I’ll also be the first to admit, looking good in the gym, looking good. And she is absolutely right, do you what you need to so you can do what you want. :O)

BTW, Erika, I know you have a million and one things going on right now, but are you still doing the cook book (compilation of the recipes on your site. :O) Just wondering.

Is this the same Monique that would spend half of her comedy concert dissing skinny chicks (lol)? Its unfortunate that it took her man to tell her what she probably already knew – being unhealthy ain’t cute no matter what your size. I applaud her for trying. It takes a strong person to change a very public opinion. I wish her good health and longevity.

Mmhmm. *nods*

I can only root for her, but dang.

I know Erica, but arent people allowed to grow, change and have a different mindset of opinions? Even if it took her husband to get her on the right track, that says a lot of his love for her health wise, as well as it shows how disconnected she was from herself, at not realizing her own self worth, seeing herself as un healthy, plus she was much younger. It took him to have enough love for the both of them. We all grow and are allowed to change, and besides, they were just jokes, but I feel they were jokes abt where she wanted to really be, but also taught, yes, just b/c youre big, it doesnt mean to hate yourself, but now love yourself even more to get healthy. So I am loving her growth process

“but also taught, yes, just b/c youre big, it doesnt mean to hate yourself, but now love yourself even more to get healthy.”

No… calling women “skinny bitches” says nothing of teaching non-skinny bitches to love themselves to be healthier.

Like, just take the L. It doesn’t really require any backpedaling or defending. She was wrong for that. She’s changing, yay. But, again, dang.

True…I feel that..but you know what I think it was. I think that it was more of…taking out her pain and frustrations, by attacking what she always wanted to be, which is subconscious therapy. What else could she do @ that time point in her mind by telling those kinds of jokes. And hey, i’ve never been a fan of hurtful comedy, even when you have ppl. like Kat Williams, (really ppl. b4 him, just cant think of their names) saying jokes abt. fat women are grotesque…I just think she just reversed it, not saying she was right or defending, just saying it’s considered comedy. But I guarantee you you more than likely wont hear her say to much abt ‘skinny Bitches” just b/c of her growth, and she’s almost one of them now lml.

I see that Mo’Nique has changed her mind about fitness. She once proclaimed how happy she was being a bigger woman and had no plans of changing that. I love it that she is getting her grind on. She looks great. Keep it Movin’ Mo’Nique! I’m even more motivated.
