Infographic: What Does Your Poop Say About You?

by Erika Nicole Kendall

So…

…in an attempt to leave the potty humor behind and be serious for a moment, I’m just gonna leave this right here and say nothing:

What does your poo say about you?

…and that’s the scoop on your poop!

(Sorry, I couldn’t resist!)

…There are two different places on this infograph that say I have absorption issues. How does one even bring that up to their physician? “I was looking at a poop infograph, if that computer is connected to the internet I can show it to you, and it said my food isn’t being absorbed properly. Can you, uh, run some kind of,er, test for that?

Sadly, your physician wouldn’t know what to do. 🙁

I think you’ll have to get a referral for a dietician for that.

Try consulting with a Colon THERAPIST. They would probably recommend a colonic session, which would help get rid of old waste and assist your body in absorbing nutrients. Its kind of like dressing clean/new clothes on a dirty body……hope that helps.

If you tell you doctor the signs (e.g. my poop tends to float) and ask if it is something to be concerned about, he/she should be able to put the two together!

Nice one!
My pee is almost transparent as I drink a lot BUT I sometimes feel dehydrated… Don’t know what causes that. ( burning eyes, dehydrated mouth)

Maybe you are allergic/irritated by something in your bedroom/apartment? Do you have carpets on the floor and a lot of clothes around – it could be dust mites. What do you wash your bed linens and pillowcases with? Some detergents can dry out the skin and irritate the eyes. Do you sleep with your face in the pillow or on your back/side? Do you breathe through your mouth? Try keeping a glass of water on your nightstand or increase the level of moisture in the room – some air conditioning is killer for eyes/skin and check the filter and wash it. Do you have a spring/summer allergy to plants?

I hope you find something that helps 🙂

Thanks for the advice Jasna!

At work there is air conditioning so I think that must be what gives me this dehydrated feeling because I don’t have it when at home. (And I sleep on the back, no carpets and stuff because I am allergic to a lot of things unfortunately).

I will try to increase my water intake and drink more regularly. I can stay hours without drinking and then drink a lot of water all at once and I guess that is not ideal.

For the dry eyes, try a warm compress over the eyes. My doctor told me sometimes with the allergies and environmental pollutants that we have to deal with everyday, our eye ducts get clogged and causes dry eyes. A warm compress periodically at night well help. Even a misting machine usually bought for at home facial helps the eyes.

..Or drinking too much. I know that might sound weird but your body has probably learned there’s a constant supply and doesn’t hold much water anymore. It may be as simple as adding a touch of salt or lemon to your water – something to encourage your body to hold some, instead of draining it.

Wow, sadly I have experienced each of thse poops except pencil thin. However, I didn’t find what I was hoping to find and that is the fact that I never feel like I am fully done after a bowel movement. I wipe way too many times and never get a “clean” finish. I apologize the TMI ladies!! Thanks for this informative info!

So is your poop supposed to sink and not smell?!?! I thought it is supposed to smell no matter what?

Erika Nicole Kendall November 18, 2012 - 10:30 AM

The smell shouldn’t be overpowering, like your food wasn’t digested properly. If it floats, there’s too much fat in your diet.

Kim March 18, 2013 - 11:33 AM

All this time I thought it was suppose to float and if it sinks it was bad. I had it backwards.
