Yesterday, I asked the #bgg2wlarmy on Twitter (are you following me at @bgg2wl?) a very important question:
RT Currently writing A Black Girl’s Guide to Strength Training. What parts of lifting would you like to see me discuss? What ?s do you have?
— Erika Nicole Kendall (@bgg2wl) March 5, 2015
and received an outpouring of responses, but most interestingly of these was this:
@bgg2wl proper form, how much time should be spent training certain body parts, confidence in a weight room full of annoying men (lol).

Now, the mere mention of developing confidence in the weight room started an entirely different conversation – and you can view that in the storify below (also linked here in case you can’t see it) – but I’m curious. What are your experiences like in the weight room? Do you experience fear? Are you the Alpha Dog? Have you been there and are now an all-star in the weight room? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the topic – your share might help someone else! And, don’t forget to scroll through the storify to catch my story of dealing with shade in the gym!
