Lazy Girl’s Pizza

by Erika • Friday, Feb 5, 2010 • 3 commentscopy this link

When I’m faced with having to cook when I least expected it, I usually do something random like… unraveling croissants and making pizza out of ‘em. They look a little mangled, but the entire process takes like 15 minutes. And they taste awfully good.

1 roll of croissants

Mozzarella Cheese (Looking for vegan mozzarella?)

Tomato Sauce

Any other toppings your heart desires – green onions, garlic, olives, whatever you like!

Take your pan and make sure it’s greased/oiled properly. Open your croissants and unravel them one by one, so that they look something like pizza slices. Lay them flat on your pan. Dress your pizza slices accordingly – sauce, then cheese and toppings. Sprinkle a little basil and oregano over the top if you’re feeling jazzy. Bake on 350 degrees for about 10 minutes, and ta da! Lazy girl’s pizza and only about 200 calories a slice!!

  1. Love this recipe! I made something similar yesterday during the DC blizzard using ready made whole wheat flatbread. The crust came out crispy and delicious. Not sure of the calories though…. But I am sure it had to be less than any delivery pizza.

    • Delivery pizza is on average 350calories per slice, and that’s plain cheese pizza. If you made your sauce at home (using the sauce recipe I posted), your single slices couldn’t possibly be that many calories! Breathe a sigh of relief, and enjoy!

  2. Great snack to make at home, you can really control the calories while still getting fast food feeling.I make my own tomatoes Sauce because I saw to many jar sauces had high fructose corn syrup.Does anybody Know if the have healthier versions of the croissant rolls? whole grain?
