Want to eat much cleaner, but less expensively? Congratulations – you’re a “Budgetarian!”
I know what that’s like. I call this my “Budgetarian” lifestyle. You eat what’s least expensive during that particular season, and you use every trick in the book you can to keep that grocery bill down. Don’t worry, I hear ya.
The first “budgetarian” plan tip? Buy one whole chicken, and use it as many ways and for as many purposes as you can! Roast your chicken, shred and chop the meat and use those leftovers to make a hearty chicken broth for soups, stews, salad dressings or simply to add up moisture to the chicken in the refrigerator. All in all, for $5, one whole chicken goes a very long way, and this meal plan proves it!
With recipes from my own collard greens with chicken and dumplings to my stuffed green peppers to my crispy-baked chimichangas, you’re absolutely certain to enjoy yourself for the week!
The meal plan includes breakfast recipes, lunch recipes, dinner recipes and snacks for 7 days. This meal plan includes chicken, but no other meat.

BTW been using your first plan this week. And yes I’ve lost weight but won’t dwell on that. :O) The real coup for me is that I read your recipes and thought, “I don’t do this in my food or that”and “I won’t like that and I’ll modify”…blah blah blah. :O) But last week I decided I’ll just do your recipes as is and low and behold have loved everything so far. My favorite so far is the Rosemary Chicken and the subsequent chicken salad… both were delicious and “I don’t even like fruit” in my chicken salad…LOL. Tonight is the chicken wings and I even went out and got pork chops, which I haven’t eaten in YEARS. So thank you. I stepped out and tried something different and realized I really liked it. The Rosemary Chicken and chicken salad are staying in my arsenal. Next week I’ll do the vegetarian menu.

A friend bought the plan for me to try as I prepare for my wedding & as I am trying to be healthier. I am already down 3 pounds (I started Monday). All the recipes, so far, are ridiculously good! And you have taken all the work out of shopping and preparing dinner. I LOVE IT! I a fa(t)shion blogger, but I do and always have known the importance of being healthy. I def. will be purchasing next week’s meal plan! Thanks for putting this out there!

I’m trying to be healthier in what I consume, and think more carefully about processed foods. Black Girl’s Guide to Weight Loss has been a GREAT guide for me. I recently purchased the Black Girl’s Guide to Weight Loss meal plan — click here to get yours! In the meal plan Erika outlines a guide to being more cognisant of what you eat, teaches the lost art of snack fu, and shares some recipes that are off the chain yummylicious. The Juicy Lucy burger is INSANELY good, and proves you can enjoy Fourth of July faves without sacrificing your overall health. What’s a Juicy Lucy? It’s a cheeseburger with the cheese stuffed inside the burger instead of on top. So. Yummy. Makes a turkey burger rich and delicious. It’s a must for my Fourth of July menu.
And, as always: The meal plans are meant to be used as a tool for those who want to eat healthier, but struggle with the time it takes to do the planning. There are posts on this blog that teach about meal planning, but if you want to skip a step as well as make a minor contribution to the blog (and receive something for it), these meal plans will help.
After you make your purchase, you will receive an email with the download link and once you click the link, you are taken directly to the page where you download the meal plan. (Don’t worry if you don’t receive the e-mail immediately – it ALWAYS comes!) Feel free to download and/or print your purchase. Any questions or suggestions? Contact me!
